uh oh, that sounded like a gauntlet, I havent spent much time against harleys but I hear alot of smack about how quick they hit a 100. mine was a piece of funk so I'm not basing harley on that loan evo. how quick are you guys compared to similar metric bikes.

Hey Nick. It's all good. My Honda and my Harley are only about 5 horses difference. But that v4 revs higher and quicker that the Harley.

Please don't do this. I'm trying to keep him sane on this bike. We don't need any showdowns at the track to see who's fastest. I want to keep him around a very long time.
Yes unless there is a major conflict June 12 is the date. Now I need to get myself into gear and start making my lists.

Naw now...Harleys are outdated, bulky, slow, top heavy...tractors. Haven't you heard? *Wicked Laugh*

This can be settled so easily!
Friday night is test & tune at Mobile Drag strip in Irvington.
I won't be there tonight because I am sick (Bronchitis).
I think it is $15.00 to run as many times as ya like.
I don't know what kind of gear they require
However, I was in Boots, Jeans, Full Faced Helmet, and Body Armored Jacket and was fine. Actually, I am sure that the full faced helmet is required, even for the cars/trucks.
That should be pretty interesting.
Anyone wanna come out with me next friday night about 6:30 / 7pm?

Thanks, Phantom. Can't wait for the BBQ now, gonna be a blast.
Sorry to hear you're sick wseibert, had bronchitis before, it sucks.
As for the Drags...I am comfortable enough to say I am NOT comfortable enough with Bella to be dragging her just yet. Not to mention the idea of flipping a $45K motorcycle has me being cautious as well. I am going to drag test her, but likely towards the end of summer. ( and edera is NOT happy )
I had the engine built by a Nitro Harley drag racer, and I told him to scare me with it. And right now, it does. Anyone who comes to the BBQ and wants to trade bikes and take a little ride, I am open for that. But I apply the rule I always first and foremost apply to myself to others. Ya break it, ya bought it.
Just to answer the question about Harley performance, here's an example. Matt Mingay is Da Man when it comes to Harley in my book. And note all of them are stock, save one

@ wseibert: Please don't give him any ideas? I'm tying to talk him out of this type of crazy stunt, and here are encouraging him.
LOL. I know he's going to do it sooner or later. I just don't want to watch. Thought he will probably insist I hold the cam-corder

well I'll be at the track tonight tuning on another toy of mine that I just picked up, I would like to see that harley run, I have only seen posers, no offense but screaming eagle package doesnt cut it in my book. I am very interested in talking to you about the mill you had built by the nitro guy.

I hear ya Dragon. I am not much for the strip either. I really dont like to launch the honda like that. I tends to eat the clutches and they are way too hard to find for a bike that was made for one year..

hmmm - 12th could be interesting. Thats when the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour ends its 2010 tour in Mobile, Al. So by 6PM, the battleship should be packed with hot rods from all over the country. I was planning to go check this out. They leave b-ham around 9 or 10 Saturday monring, so they arrive whenever.
no clue what bike I'll show up on. I dont need no directions - I know how to get to your place

Sounds good to us, we were thinking about maybe suggesting a ride after supper. It sounds like a perfect end to a perfect day. Friends, food, bike, and now Hot Rods.

If you let it go to your head. Your head will swell so bad it will cause you to be top heavy and you will fall over and scratch your new Harley.
But seriously, congrats on the new scoot.

Re: 1st Annual SAMCSociety.com Meetup and BBQ - June 12, 2010

Only thing on it is the labels on the jugs that SAY screaming eagle, nickestes. Andy will not build anything screaming eagle at all. To quote him , screaming eagle is a total POS. I took the jugs because it was a financial choice between those or a $4,000.00 set. Those got immediately machined completely out, no eagle left in them. No offense taken, cuz it isn't screaming eagle.
