Have you been thinking of going ahead and buying a second bike. You could keep it in reserve for the times your nightster is in the shop and to ride on the weekeneds? Still use the nightster for everyday travel.

My bike gets really hot...heading towards 34K... I'm thinking about getting a second bike...a bit later. I'm thinking this one will be a heritage softail.

Re: Official Scadoodle mileage tracking thread
Sorry folks, I have been distant. I have had some Emergency medical issues in my Immediate family. I have been tormented as hell, and can barely ride because of my focus. I honestly think the prayers need to be focused on Eco and catching the driver of the vehicle. I've got good support from family and know I can pull out of this one.

Re: Official Scadoodle mileage tracking thread
I got to get a picture of the old honda 550 four I rode all thru High school. I bought it with 12k adn it now has 243,000 last time I checked. Killed one motor due to my abuse but the bike is still on the road. I still ride it when I go home on leave. It sits out in the barn waiting for me.
Glad to see a bike gettin ridden instead of polished.

I have removed most of the shiney parts so I dont have to clean it so much. Once or twice a year at best now.

Re: Official Scadoodle mileage tracking thread
You know I don't get the people that bash Harley's and think that those of us that buy them are idiot posers. Scott's bike at 100k miles looks way better than any 50k miles Jap. bike that I've seen. Even Goldwings with that many or more miles have mostly interstate miles on them. I know that the majority of Scott's miles are from daily travel and not road trips. Just my thoughts.
I just remembered Saltcreeps Yamaha sport touring bike has close to 100k on it and it looks great.

My concours had 137K when I sold it. Looked like new. I bought it with 13k a few years earlier.
No reason to bash jap bikes. You like what you like, I like what I like.
The only reason I dont ride HD anymore is they cant keep up with my FJR in handling or performance. These are the things that I like in a bike. IfHD builds a performace bike , I will consider it.I sm guessin My 2000 Wide glide will probally be the last HD I ever own though.

Congrats, I remember the first time I rolled one over 100k. 1976 CB 550 four. Still sitting in the barn at my parnets house. Has over 200K on it now. Just cant part with it.
Keep on riding brother.

Re: Official Scadoodle mileage tracking thread
Scott is one heck of a die hard rider, congrats on the 100K plus and I would not be surprised if he gets another 20k before needing some top end refreshing( yes brother I know those valves are bothering you some) I have struggled to get 4500 miles this year.

Re: Official Scadoodle mileage tracking thread
you have to refresh the top end of a HD at 120K? Cant just adjust the valves and keep riding?
