Me and the wife put about 150 miles on the bike today. Have to get a tag some where tomorrow.

After I made the tag I went by a friends place for a minute. When I pulled into a parking spot I hit a small patch of gravel and almost dropped the bike. Pulled the crap out of my back trying to catch the bike before it hit the ground. The only reason I posted the new tag was because it is on the way home. Now I get to lay on the floor for a few days.

Rats man! Ugh.. I funked up my hip like that catching mine when I was on gravel and had the old lady on the back.. Hurt like hell for months.

I think the rat bike guys have the right Idea.. if it gets a new scratch it just builds character

Well I guess me and you live close then it is also only about three miles from my house.

Well. It did hit the crash bar. I think that is the only thing that kept it off of me. But you never get used to it. If it starts to go over you try to catch it. I have been riding for many years and only had this happen 3 times. I guess if you drop it once a week you learn how to do it right.

I have to agree with Dragon. I learnt that lesson when I tried to save a KZ1000. It's much better to get out of the way & pick them up. You can fix a bike a lot easier than you can fix your body. It is a hard lesson to learn. I don't even like dropping my dirtbikes. The last time I tried to save my 450, I tore my MCL. Not fun riding back to the truck in deep sand with a torn MCL.
