Fellow PGR Members,
The family of US Army Specialist Stuart Morse has requested the Patriot Guard help them welcome home their HERO. SPC Morse has just returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During his deployment, SPC Morse faced some very tough conditions and situations, and lost some comrades-in-arms.

SPC Morse will be arriving at Mobile Regional Airport on Wednesday, 15 August 2012 . We will form a flag line in the arrival area upstairs. This HERO stood many tough days and nights to help ensure our freedom.

Let’s show him how much we appreciate his service and sacrifice by standing up for him upon his arrival home.

Fellow Riders, The Patriot Guard has been requested to escort the Marine Corps Aviation Bell Tower from Ohio to Pensacola. We here in South Alabama will participate in the final leg of this journey.. joining up with not only the NWFL PGR.. but with PGR who have riden all of the way to carry this tower to it's place of honor in Pensacola. If you remember we have already escorted the bell a few weeks back. This bell commemorates 100 years of Marine Corps Aviation. This is the tower on which the Bell will be mounted.

We will ride up together to Exit 69 on I-65 which is the intersection of I-65 and AL Hwy 113. We will meet with the NWFL PGR at the Chevron Station at that exit. When the Tower arrives we will join in with the escort to Pensacola. There will be a stop in Pensacola where we will be able to unfurl our flags just before we arrive at the final destination.

SW Alabama Staging: Location: BP Station Parking Lot. Exit 37 on I-65 in Bay Minette Time: 1:00pm KSU: 1:30pm RCIC: Greg "Big Daddy" Brown 251-209-0266

I really hope for a big turnout from the SW Alabama PGR. This will be a great ride and a wonderful feel good mission. I hope to see you all there. With Respect, Greg "Big Daddy" Brown Patriot Guard Riders Assistant State Captain -South Alabama 251-209-0266

HOTH MISSION William F. Green State Veterans Home

300 Faulkner Drive Bay Minette, Alabama

Saturday, 15 September 2012

http://www.patriotguard.org/ALLForums/tabid/61/forumid/132/postid/1879926/view/topic/Default.aspx

Fellow PGR Members, It is time again to honor our HEROES OF YESTERYEAR. The residents of William F. Green State Veterans Home in Bay Minette always look forward to our visits. We brighten their days when we show up. The sound of the motorcycles, the warm smiling faces, all mean so much to our veterans. Many of the 150 residents have no family to come visit them - we are their family. A lot of the veterans would love to share their service experiences with you. Even just a few minutes spent with these HEROES provides a lift to their spirits that can not be measured. Whether you spend time helping with bingo, visit the veterans in their rooms, or sing songs for them, it is time well spent. These HEROES stood for us in WW II, Korea, Vietnam, and other conflicts. Lets honor them. Mark your calendars for Saturday 15 September 2012.

Staging Location: The old Tom Thumb, 2001 US Hwy 31 S, Bay Minette, AL (across from Faulkner State Community College) Time: 9:00 am KSU: 9:15 am RCIC: Bob "Yoda" Johnson 251-648-5744 Yoda56@mediacombb.net

I hope to see a great turnout to honor and visit with our HEROES OF YESTERYEAR. I'll see you there.

Fellow Riders,

Development of the new Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort is nearing completion. Once completed and opened in the spring of 2013, we will be involved with supporting funerals of our fallen HEROES at this new cemetery. In fact, the Patriot Guard Riders in southwest Alabama will become one of the key organizations involved with funerals at this location for our fallen HEROES.

The Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort will be dedicated in a ceremony at 10:00 AM on Friday, 7 December 2012. The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the Dedication Ceremony. We will stand a flag line at the dedication shelter and assist the elderly needing help attending the dedication, along with those in wheelchairs, get from the buses bringing them in to their seats in the dedication shelter. After the ceremony and the refreshments being served afterwards, we will assist those in wheelchairs and the elderly needing help back to the buses for departure.
