Drag Racing

Well, I found out the University of South Alabama has a Drag Racing Club.
I called the guy yesterday and found out members of the club get in for free at Mobile Dragway on Fridays.
However, they don't have any other motorcycles, they are all cars / trucks.

I went yesterday.
That was a BLAST but, I am not very good on launch.

First time I've ever been a drag strip with her.

I found out my bike is FAR more capable then I am.

My best time was 8.1 seconds at 86 MPH for 1/8th of a mile.
I probably did 15 runs.

I think I might have a new hobby.

Does anyone else go out there?
It's the one in Irvington.

I have been there a few times. I don't think I will be racing the fatboy though. I have thought about running the magna. not sure I want to do it.

I live about two miles away from the strip in Murray Heights... you sound like me, I have been down the strip 3 times and my best was 8.2 It is a blast though

Haven't run mine out there yet. With all the new performance stuff, I want to, after getting real acquainted with it first. But edera is not too happy about it, so it's kinda up in the air right now.

Thats one of the best places to go and get to know your bike... Fri. is test and tune, $15 and you can make as many passes as you can line in for... Start off easy and go from there I think they do test and tune on Sun. also for now...

What do you have to do to get in the club???

I've been meaning to make the ride over there to try out the new bike, has lots of new go fast havent taken one to irvington yet, what do they require for gear

I am not sure what they require I had on Jeans, Full Face Helmet, Ballistic Nylon Reinforced Armored Jacket, and Gloves. Most of the guys on bikes had the padded pants as well, although, a few of them just had jeans as well. Everyone had an armored jacket though, so I am betting it is required.

went to the track tonight, bout wrecked the bike launching caught video of it but even with all that it still turned a 7.2 at 100

Hey Nick. What were you riding? I was out there. I wasn't running just spectating. Saw a few bikes. wasn't a real good turn out last night.

black gsxr 1000 I was in the last run wearing all denim gear. I'm the guy that lit the tire up at the launch and almost hit the tree

I wasn't there all night. I left around 10. I belive I know which one you were. Bad eyes at night keep me from telling colors.

yep bike didnt wheely it just plain spun I was in the right lane but it was late like 10:30 or 11. either way we got it on video

we are guessing the tire is just old and that the commpound isnt conditioned. new tire, chain and sprocket kit, and then headed to the dyno to tune in the yoshi ems with the cams
