When you see it on the bike with the full picture, it just does not fit. I will post up a pic of the whole side in just a few minutes.

You going to stay with the green on the tanks and all...what is orange the 350 emblem on the side cover? Like I said I like it the way it is but if you are not happy with it and are going to change it I like the creme and orange maybe...my neighbors would laugh everything on my property is green and creme! So I am a little biased!!!

I do like those lens flares I keep getting from that polish!

Re: Project "Caroline", 1973 CB350 four
...but then again that black really sets the polish off too! Man I having been fighting color combinations in my head all day! hand sanded for 8 hours today and 11 yesterday and all I could think about was colors so I am probably on color overload man!!! hehhe
Re: Project "Caroline", 1973 CB350 four
I do have to say bro she looks so good I am ready to go find a 350 and build a twisted replica! I really love what you have done with her seriously!
Re: Project "Caroline", 1973 CB350 four
Well thanks, but this is just the meager beginnings for Caroline, she will be not only visually enhanced, but also mechanically upgraded before she is "done". I am not able to really decide at this point as I may wind up not using the orange at all. I am not sure what to do. I was thinking of going back with the all original colors, but now I think I may alter the accents a bit. Like that pale gold strip may become a richer copper color and the off white will become an almond cream color. If I do that I am also going to alter the badge colors to match that.

That sounds nice I really like the green, and the copper and creme would look really classy with it too. You are creating a real treasure there man.
Did you ride her yet? How did the gear feel, pulls harder on the bottom and revs up quicker I bet!

Re: Project "Caroline", 1973 CB350 four
I did not have time to ride her yesterday, just had to much to do in the afternoon to do anything in the shop. I didn't get in the shop until 9pm to finish the beauty cover, so it was too late to ride. I did take her to work this morning, and yep, she comes off the line much stronger, revs even faster, and pulls hard out of a corner when you drop a gear or two! She is much more pleasant to ride, I am very happy with my decision to drop that tooth! She only lost about 4 mph on the top end, but climbs there quicker, so I concider that a win all the way around!

Lookin great! I had the pleasure of taking Caroline on a very quick ride today and she has got some serious new pep in her step. She's already a blast to ride, and from here it only gets better! My vote goes to the black with bead-blasting. But you know I'm pretty fond of the blasted look.

I got tired of waiting till after Barber's for more mods, so I got started again today! I have been wanting to fab up some rear sets, but was putting off any more mods until after Barber's....but "I aint scared"! So I had a ton of work to do to get them to work, but I am almost there now. I have to finish up the shifter side, but the hard side was the brake side so I did it first. I took some rear sets from my old CBR600 and modified them to work. I cut off the heel guards to start. I also had to cut a tab and weld it to the brake lever as the CBR was hydrolic rear brakes while the 350 has mechanical. After a bit if cutting, torch welding (I dont have a welder yet), grinding, and bending I got the brake side done minus actually mounting the brackets, but I just need the right hardware for that and it will be done quick. Mounting and adjusting the connecting rod length is all I have to do for the shifter side and I will have rear sets! Here is the pics....I know how much you guys like'em!
Rear sets before mods
After a little cutting
Some mods on the brake lever to work with mechanical brakes
Shifter linkage
A shot of the brake side done except bolted
I hope to get it finished up over the next two or three days, I am going to paint the brackets black too.

Looking good bro! I love rearsets and you can see in the last photo that the angle on the leading edge of the bracket is even the same as the up frame bar it is mounted to, good eye for detail! Great job!
Re: Project "Caroline", 1973 CB350 four
Nice. I knew the cbr600 controls would make their way to Caroline! It's looking great, those controls work very well with the angles of the frame and cutting that piece off really simplified it. Can't wait to see it n person tomorrow night!
Twisted's going to give me a hand braizing the leak on the top of my tank. Thanks dude.

Re: Project "Caroline", 1973 CB350 four
Tonight I got it all buttoned up except for the brake light switch for the rear. But it all works and is very comfortable. The hardware and mounting is a temporary system that will be changed when the full teardown comes. Here is a shot of me on it. Deviant1 took the shot as he was here to get his tank braised. I got a small bead over the pin hole right before I ran out of acetylene. I hope we got it all! Anyway here is a pic!

Good job! That looks like it will work just perfect. Looks a lot like my forward controls, but just the opposite.

Re: Project "Caroline", 1973 CB350 four
Just to keep you all informed, Caroline is just getting some miles on her before the cold comes...then I will get back to work on her. I picked up a few goodies at the Barber's swap meet that you all will see soon. Caroline is going to get a little closer to making the ton soon!
Thanks for all the positive comments guys, it really does keep me motivated!
