Planning an all day ride for this Saturday 22nd.
I would like to head West or North/West. Any ideas? Any takers?
I'm bored with the Florida Panhandle. Mississippi and Louisiana is virgin riding for me. Highway 90 to N.O. is an option. Or heading NW through the Hattiesburg area is another. More twisties than hwy 90. But Hwy 90 still has alot to look at. Just have to be careful going thru the Bikini Zones along the Miss. Beaches.

There's an interesting route from the first paved right turn off U.S. 90 inside Mississipppi (or the first I-10 exit in Mississippi) north to Lucedale. It tucks back into Alabama then goes west and then north:
Fort Lake Road to Newman Road, turn left: Newman Road to Airport Blvd, turn left: Airport Blvd becomes 614 in MS; 614 to Hurley, turn right onto 613; 613 to 198. Lucedale is a short distance left on 198; US 98 is a short distance right. 98 is now a very pleasant four-lane through MS but is a two-lane back from the MS/AL line and can be a little frustrating.
This isn't quite an all-day ride but it's a good start if you want to go northwest.

It used to be 8am...but every time I get there at 8am I feel like I am late. Best guess would be get there at 7:30am for best seating.

Re: Planning an all day ride for this Saturday 22nd.
It was nice meeting Saltcreep, Malisakins and Jim at the Biscuit Bucket. No group ride afterward. ( I understand why guys and girl). It was hard to resist Jim's Beer and Sod party that he was having at his house. I know it was a good time. I headed solo to P'cola. I ended up at the Eagle Talon. Nice ladies running the store. I ended up purchasing a new helmet while I waas there. They do have a nice selction of bike accesories. Looks like they even sew patches while you wait. They had a really good price on oil. Mobil 1 syn. $9.95qt and Amsoil for $11.95 a qt. That's was about it. Took the long way home up hwy 112 from Contonment to Bay Minnette. Uneventful but perfect temps. and no more Love Bugs

I was shocked no takers on the Sod party!! I helped Debi lay down one pallet of sod. Then she wanted to go shopping at home depot for a bunch of landscape stuff......so she stole my truck and headed off...so I waited till the truck was out of site and fired up the Deuce Coupe and did some more riding. Stopped by H&D Cycles....they are doing massive work there in preparation for that big event they are throwing this weekend coming up. They built a bandstand for the music and even built outside bathroom and shower for those that camp there over the weekend. I will definitely be stopping by there this weekend!! Then I meandered over to the Pirates Cove....neat place lots of boats pulled up and "eye candy" for as far as you could see. Then headed home for more "yard work"...yuk!
