P'cola HD Open House 8-31 / 9-1
Fri. August 31st and Sat. September 1st.
It starts at 8am. Some of you know how crowded it gets closer to noon. Wait time can be as much as 1 hour to demo the more popular bikes.
I was thinking that we could meet at the Hardees in Loxley at 7am and grab a bite then head over to HD via hwy 90.
Any takers? Any better ideas?

That's Labor day? Wow, not all that good of a choice to pick. I will have to see what we are doing then.
Re: P'cola HD Open House 8-31 / 9-1
I will make it there one of the days, maybe Friday.

What time are you looking to get there? If you are going down 90 to Pcola you can just stop by my place on the way!

That is early for me! I was hoping to stay in bed till at least 8am. I may not get there till mid morning or noon. Pretty sure they won't have the hot dogs ready till about then. I will PM you directions to my house since you will be passing right by on 90 in case you want to stop by for a coffee or early beer.

OK! Did Breakfast at the Eastern Shore Cracker Barrel....went over and visited Eastern Shore HD...rode on home....now getting ready to head over to Pcola HD! Gorgeous riding out there today!
Re: P'cola HD Open House 8-31 / 9-1
Sorry I missed ya Joe! Good day though. Stopped by Pcola HD...great burgers! Looked around a while. I didn't really want to test drive any of the bikes they had out. I asked a sales guy inside if I could demo one of the Urals with sidecar and he told me no. That was it for me....we took off and went thru Lillian on 98.....to the express...then up to 59...then west on 32 and rode over to the 181 Flea market...hung out for a while and then headed home. Great day for a ride!

Another downer post. Hate to break it to ya....but nobody cares if you go or skip it. Several of us had a great riding day.

Glad you enjoyed it.. My point was that i dont own a HD and seriously doubt that I will ever own one again, so Open house at a HD dealer isnt of any interest to us NON-HD owners.
Kinda pitching to a brand.

Re: P'cola HD Open House 8-31 / 9-1
Last comment for me on this topic and it is completely off topic:
I am getting fired up about all the negativity posted across this forum.
Examples:
1. This one!
2. You list something for sale and several people make derogatory comments about what you listed even though they have no intention of buying anything. Just feel the need to urinate on someone else's parade.
3. List an event and have people make disparaging remarks about even though they have no intention of going to it or most any other event posted.
The list could go on.
1. To your point above....this is not a brand specific forum or group. Many people have all kinds of bikes and not just HD's. Most of us could care less what you ride.
2. An event is an event and is not brand specific. There were a number of non-HD riders including my wife who rode her Honda there.
3. You don't have to go to one of these things for the sole purpose of buying a new HD or HD Tshirt or just looking at HD's. The best bike show is always the parking lot at any event. The bike there I drooled over the most was that new Ural with sidecar in the showroom.
4. This forum should be about promoting riding and camaraderie, and not who thinks they have the ultimate and only bike to ride and knows the absolute most about riding. 99.9999% of the time people that think they know it all...don't!
5. Negative comments tend to put others in a bad mood. Kinda like you are passing your negativity around. This may account for such low turn out whenever an event or meet up is suggested. If all you read is negative stuff, that is your impression of the people in the group and you can always find something better to do with your time than hang out with negative people.

Re: P'cola HD Open House 8-31 / 9-1
wow lighten up francis.. No one said anything negative, your just trying to take it that way. I meerly mentioned this event would be moot for all NON HD people like me.
take a second, and relax before you make accusations. there are many ways to take posts with no verbal communications or body language, You should not always assume its the worst possible way.
I wonder why everyone I work with have stopped visiting this forum?
Ill ride with any of you, Heck i did a meet and greet at fish river, Was a good time. But dont expect to see me at a HD open house. Where is the negative comment in that???

Hey James, that Cracker Barrel deal they do on Sat morning, is that more than just BMW's? Nothing against bmw's, I just thought it was a bmw owners meeting and didn't know if we'd be shunned for not having one.
I thought about going to the Harley open house, we went to the one at Hall's Mobile and had a whole lot of fun, rode lots of different things on someone else's dime

Nope, i have seeen everything from BMW to HD to honda, kawasaki, yamaha and so fourth.
As for halls I wont ever darken the door again. They dont care if a person over 16 buys a busa, ( I agree its the individiual right to do so) but they dont care if the kids has a license or not. Another dealer chasing the mighty dollar that doesnt care about the future of motorcycling. Gave some bullcrap story 'maybe they are going to put it in their living room and stare at it" May never even ride it. Dealers like this arent helping us out at all.

Great bunch of people up there at the Cracker Barrel on Saturday morning. Predominantly an older crowd but many could put me to shame riding. Very open and friendly people with all kinds of bikes. Many come from Pensacola and some from north of Mobile and all parts in between.
I first joined up with them around 2007. Back then the group was called Airhead Central based on the old Beemer's with the air cooled boxer engines. Even then no one really cared what kind of bike you rode and a number had HD's as well as Vstroms, various Hondas, Guzi's, etc. They met for Saturday breakfast back then and for several more years at the Oasis gas station restaurant at the Wilcox exit off I-10 near the Styx river. Later, they renovated the restaurant and created the Derailed Diner.
Because the group was so diverse and seemed fewer Beemer airheads were showing up they decided to change the group name to the Oasis Breakfast Club rather than any brand specific thing.
After a while there was a bit of a falling out with the new restaurant management at the Oasis as they did not want to accommodate a large gathering of bikers, they moved the Saturday breakfast meet to the Cracker Barrel at the Easter Shore shopping center near the Malbis exit.
They sometimes do dome interesting rides afterwards. Sometimes ride somewhere else for lunch. They are a true RTE (Ride to Eat) group. After breakfast there is a lot of tire kicking in the parking lot. Yesterday I saw everything from a brand new CVO Ultra someone had just bought to Guzi's Beemers, Goldwings, and even some little scooter looking contraption.
I have just always had a hard time getting up that early on a Saturday!!
