Harley davidson open house

Well it is HD pensacola open house this saturday 4/27/13 from 9am-4pm, they have the guys doing the trick riding in the back lot and other things going on.Hope to make it and see some of you there.

Had to work. I hate that things always get done on Sat's. *sigh*

I have an open invitation for thunder beach at a freinds condo near MS Newbey"s but like last year work is loomimg and I will likley miss the whole event again.

You still ride on Sunday when you can and stay safe out there:))

Hey!! I made it out there yesterday but must have missed ya. Tried to get there earlier but ran into some mechanical issues with the Deuce and had to fix. I closed the trunk and it would not open!! Never had that one before. Had to go home and drift out the hinges to get the trunk lid off. Seems a small cotter pin fell off...letting the other pin that the latch is actuated from fall off as well. Once I had it off, I fixed in a couple minutes and then headed east. Wolfed down a couple of burgers and walked a round a bit at Pcola HD and then headed out. Had some errands to run in Pcola and then on down to the Mullet Toss at the Flora-Bama. My daughter from NOLA and her college friends had rented a beach house for the weekend and were down there tossing fish around. What a zoo the flora-bama was! Never saw so many people there. Scantily clad and semi-nude young women everywhere!! I tried my darndest to not salivating all over myself but failed miserably!

Hey Stoney! Not sure how much riding I'll be doing for a short bit, I had to have an MRI done on my knee (same one that had surgery in Jan). *sigh* I get the results in the morning.

Hey Miss G:, sorry just saw this I hope the results are good? looks like I will try and ride down to Thunderbeach on Friday, freind has a condo and room for me for one night, might get wet but will be worth it .

Wish the results indicated a need for surgery...that would mean something fixable. I have had some degenerative, arthritic changes...since Jan! I have a knee replacement in my future. Got something called a "Rooster shot" to hopefully ease the pain and buy me some time. *sigh* I'm not even 50 and I'm looking at knee replacement coming at some point... geez..

Sad to say...but...welcome to the club. They tell me knee replacement is no longer an if but a when....for both. I hope you have better luck with the rooster shots than I did. Although, everyone tells me that it has become quite a common thing these days. My knees have gotten so bad that I may just have to give up on ballet dancing!

The knee thing isn't an "if" for me either. The rooster shots are a last ditch effort to reduce the pain. If they don't work, I'll have to give up trying to become a jazzercise instructor. *sigh*

Damn....I am in big trouble then...my knee not that bad yet..but was giving me hell friday/saturday riding in the rain to thunderBeach and that gale force wind was a bitch coming back!! Years ago I was given a choice of having my back/spine fused but decided until it gets where it takes a bottle of asprin and bottle of Crown to stop the pain will hold off! I hope the shots work for you, the last time i had needle point injections in my neck,back and head........aw s*it now I know why I had memory problems...

The shot has helped but only to a point, so far. Dr said it could take up to 2 weeks to feel the full benefit. I was also told I would always have some form of pain/discomfort from here on out.

I was hit on my left lower leg, car bumper-leg-bike !!leg lost that round. Had a steel pin put in from my inside left knee down to my ankle. Still got a few inches of it in my lower left leg/ankle. That was before all the new skills they have now a days, so pray for the best knowing that there will be good and not so bad days until you have no option except the surgey. I swore I would leave surgey to the last..and so far the asprin/motrin combined works. well sometime I do add a little whiskey to the mixture. The shots will work" just know there will come a time they are no longer effective. They worked for 2 years with my neck, back injury. SO THINK POSITIVE THOUGHTS AND BE HAPPY!!!!

Yeah, today has been on of those "not so good" days. Without a brace, it feels like the bones are clunking together at times and I have more pain too. Getting old ain't for sissies!!! Maybe I should start an old bikers commune...?

Old..hell you cannot be old until you hit 70!! and I think it should be 80..

My son is doing very well. He's young and that was his saving grace. About 10 more years and he'll be a walking weather vane too. Poor kid...lol
