If only Alabama would do the same. They do warn you of bad roads for motorcyclists sometimes, like the Airport Rd work from Baker High to Snow Rd.

That is the only one that I have ever seen. But the idea of using a traction aid on the painted stripes is a move in the right direction.
I just hope they have the road done when I get off work today. They have been workin on it for over a year now.

I hear you on that traction aid of the stripes! That stuff is slick when even the slightes bit of moisture is on it! Had a little tail wag on one a few weeks ago that tightend up my rearend a bit!

Yea. I have had to pick seat cusion out of my behind a few times on the stripes.

Same here! I always get over onto the shoulder when I'm turning off of the highway into my neighborhood and I have learned to be very careful of that slick little white line!

I just found this thread and I'm really glad I did. It never occurred to me that those stripes might be slick when wet. Thanks for the heads up.

you dont see it much down south, but northern states use tar filler for road cracks, frost heaves, etc.... aka Tar Snakes ( thats exactly what they look like too !)

Yeah. There are roads around here that are like that. If you think its bad on a sport you should try to throw a 700-800 pound bike through a good curve like that.

my road trip to pa in august , we rode all kinds of backroads and they are all chip and seal , will wear out tires fast , and they make for a nasteee bike as well ..
