new to haveing a harley

I'd really been lookin everywhere for the blinker fluid. Lol

I ride my 72 FLH when @ home and avg 2-400 miles weekly unless it is a flood coming down. If I keep it below 60-70mph nothing really works loose except the usual mirrors getting loose. after I put it back together orginally with the blue lock goo.Had to with the engine drive train hard mounted to the frame, it also helps that I have the full fenders,front shock covers still installed the extra weight comes in handy sometimes. But their is still the vibrations that wear on the hands after steady riding for a while and hopefully that will be gone when I replace the rubber riser bushings. If it isn't vibrating it is not running!!!

I try to ride when I have a nice day off if I don't have my kids on weekends that are good enoug to ride and I usually ride 100+ miles when I do

I'll be riding it to work more as the weather warms up right now I'm not to crazy about ridding to work in 30 degree weather in the mornings I've done it twice and froze my a$$ off

I ride every day , nothing like riding in thiry five degee temps and rain

them four speed twelve hunnerts are sweet around 55-60 , just lopin along barely off idle

Mine is a 5 speed

was referring to my 52 and 71 as well as 72 shovelheads bike , they are 1200s

So true Jack, it really runs sweet in that range and gets 40-45mpg. I just reinstalled the windscreen,front engine guard, the select comfort seat and hard saddlebags for the 100+ mile wounded warrior ride this coming saturday.

oh ok I wasn't thinking about the older bike being only 4 speeds and I completely for got the older Harley were 1200cc

Get used to riding slow and overpaying for parts..

Nothing wrong with riding slow and paying for quality parts(provided they are quality ) my son recently transferred to the marine corps air station Hawaii ( Navy) and bought a 93 Dyna lowrider. We have been going over the bike thru text messages and e mails and other than needing a tune up and service in good shape. Did have an issue where the bike was acting cold natured and he had to have the choke partially pulled out to run. well he pulled the stock CV-klien carb off and sent to have it cleaned and performance tunned. Something to consider since the stock carbs after years get all gummed up internally causing fuel starvation or hot running engines. An again as for riding slow more time to react to any situations that might occur and mostly to enjoy the ride and not see things in a blur..
