A good man down Empty A good man down

Post by beachbum_ Mon Jan 14, 2013 10:49 pm

Saturday around two pm Phillip Melton was critically injured and needs all the prayers and positive thoughts he can get. He is a pretty decent hard working man. Read the story http://www.tallahassee.com/story/DP2013301120031/Motorcyclist-critically-injured-Lillian-Highway It is just sad that people keep driving when they have no right too!! sad part is he post up some bail money and gets to go home and Phil may not get too and at best will only lose a leg.

twenty minutes later and this could have been me or one of my friends that went for a ride that day and passed by the site (cant call it a accident because the guy decided to drive drunk and with no license

well i heard today that Phillip has shown some improvement but still listed as critical. No update on his leg, but I was told that it was not savable. Thanks to everyone that is pulling for him and i assure you that you would like this dude as i have never seen him have a cross word to say about anyone or anything he's just one of them good ol boys. I have only had a business relationship with him and respected him as his word was gold. please keep him in your thoughts.

A good man down Empty update on Phillip

Post by beachbum_ Tue Jan 29, 2013 6:39 pm

He is recovering from injuries. He did lose his leg though. The drunk that hit him is still in jail and still claims it wasn't his fault. State trooper told me today that it is his SEVENTH DUI. Go Alabama!! Personally I believe that someone that gets more than three DUI's in ten years should get prison term and not be allowed to reach the seven number. I'm not sure if any of the first six resulted in injury . The state trooper said that he made the claim that "Them damn bikers should watch where they are going". It was stated by witness's that the Van just pulled right in to the motorcycle with no time to react. Pretty sad when it happens to someone that is just out for a nice afternoon ride. He wasn't speeding or drinking but is paying the price for loving his motorcycle. Some say that is why they are called accidents but when you drive after six dui's then it is premeditated murder to me.
Sorry for the rant Phillip is just a nice hard working man that enjoyed the occasional motorcycle ride!!!

Wow! Seven DUI's. I thought every state was third time you go bye- bye for a while. Glad to hear he is recovering well.

No this is no joke as the state trooper that arrested him has been a pretty close friend for about nine years. They are looking for more witnesses to the accident.
Some of the people that witnessed it took off because of the severity of Phillips injuries. Basically it severed his leg and was pretty bad looking. The state attorneys office Monday said they are going after him hard so more witnesses the better so if anyone knows any body that seen it. Please ask them to come forward.

Well, I realize much time has passed but these still need prayers. Alabama needs to change it's DUI laws but no license and drunk? This man (the van driver) had no business being on the road.

Prayers lifted...
