Shovelhead timing
I removed my ignition points and removed my push rods so I rotated the engine. I need some instructions on setting my timing. Any help would be appreciated. Also when I took my push rod covers off it had rubber seals (not o-ring) is there any reason why I couldn't use cork going back?

Re: Shovelhead timing
With the newer kinds of oil being MUCH slicker, I would personally recommend newer rubber seals. Cork will likely leak on ya.
As for the timing it has been too long for me, but I am sure others here will be along and have good info for ya on that.
