My new light bracket
I started with a piece of 3" x 36" 1/8" Flat Bar. Cut two pieces 16" long. Layed out my design and clamped them together and hole sawed three different size holes just on one half. I removed the clamps and turned one piece over and drilled matching holes

My jig saw gave up the ghost, so I strait cut with an 1/8" blade in my grinder, repeating the flip flop till I had the same cuts on both sides
With limited tools, I used my bench grinder on the out sides to get the shapes I wanted. then my dremel tool till I ran out of wheels, Then I busted out the good ol Files to finish,

i was trying to come close to my mirrors. I have and Idea for light mounting that I'm going to try, I want to make them adjustable like stock turn signals. I also may be adding a small Yellow set that I will use as city lights, I don't think that they would be seen with the white lights on. I"ll be tacking the end flames and spreading the two pieces to give it a better shape. I'll run the wires thru the inside and install a better plug so I can remove the bracket, lights and all if I need to.

I'm also making a little flame that will go in the middle to hang my bell.

That looks really good Brother and I love the craftsmanship that you are putting into it by building it by hand!

Re: My new light bracket
Well I hoping the things I picked up today will give me the finished look I'm shooting for. I did a lot of filling in to avoid cutting a lot of little pieces. I couldn't seems to find nothing to clean up all the little inside pieces. I have some cleaning to do since I weld like a gorilla. I'm looking forward to finishing it and start my head light speedo bracket to match

Thanks, I am not sure what this thing is but it cleans up my gorilla welds nice. I have about 1/3 more to do, I ready to get it done. I've got a light bracket and speedometer bracket to do next.
you can see all the metal fragments behind on the bench.
[I
what it looked like after, I welded it
what it's cleaning up to be.

I'm going to have to touch it up a bit, the wire was about 5 years old or better, the emergency roll that I put on to keep going is about 12 years old. I just picked up a new roll, I'm going to use up the old. I use to keep it in the freezer, then my wife found it, so it's been in the shed. I hope to get back on it this week end, I've got a few honey do's, and a scooter to fix first.

Re: My new light bracket
Thanks, Sorry abut the disappearing picks
Now I went a little crazy this week end. I need to put a new brake line on the front cause my risers were putting it under some stress, well I had a few extra dollars hidden from my wife so I bought new risers.
The others were ok but I really needed strait ones. So I decided to relocate the speedometer, which involved coming up with a way to get rid of that sportster headlight bracket. After exhausting my mind how to come up with a way to mount my speedometer, I found a Tachometer with a almost perfect fit where I wanted it housing while getting my new front tire. So My mind went to ticking. I didn't get construction pictures of this one, it was a a mess getting started, but this is how it ended. I still need to paint it and add some reinforcements on the bottom, the metal wasn't as strong as I thought it would be, I hope to get it done early tomorrow.
It's hard to tell in these pictures, but there are 3 levels of flames.I still have a top piece to make and will probably shoot it with some paint till I finish my lower bracket, and I got one more thing to build, and I'll get all of them powder coated. Yes I'm still working on the other bracket, It putting a whooping on me. I'm about ready to put the bell bracket on. and will make the actual mounting piece. I probably going to put on new lights too.

Scott, really nice work..you have got skills brother!! what material did you use to make the bracket? Is that stainless? or did you polish it out? I like the new bars, really give the front head on view a cool look.

Re: My new light bracket
It was some scrap stainless I picked up about 1/8" thick. I got a bunch of metal to do things with if any one want to build something. I'm working on getting rid of it
