Dual sporty
I have decided I want to covert my sportster into a dual sport bike.. Maybe just temporarily for one good ride in Yankee Bama.
I have the knobby tires on the way and some rear shocks that are 2 inches over mine that might fit..
I need to figure out some kind of skid plate to protect the oil lines on the bottom of the bike and maybe some kind of mid pegs.
Also looking to jack the front end.. Anybody know where I could get fork tubes 2 inches over stock for a sportster?
I will post pictures when I start the conversion and probably a video of the ride and subsequent crash and explosion.
Any thoughts, advice or criticism welcomed below.

I think those are all cool. I don't think I will be going that crazy with mine. I really like that KTM front end on Jimmythehogs bike.

Re: Dual sporty
Rubber is in! and it looks pretty cool already.
A member from another site is sending me his XR1200 shocks because they are taller than mine.. Hoping they bolt up.
Lifting the front end is still something I have not figured out.. I really just want to get some 2" over stock fork tubes, but cant find them.
BTW. does anybody know of a place I can get this rubber mounted in Mobile? I will just go to Retro Cycle Works in Fairhope other wise. Its just a drive for me. Thanks for looking.

Dude, you're killing me... Try to keep my bike in one piece. Bring me the tires and I'll throw em on.

Re: Dual sporty
Thanks for the offers both you fellas!
I took the day off today and ran over to Retro to get the rubber mounted up. Kent was not happy about doing it.. The tires are tube tires and my wheels are tubeless,. He said a bunch of stuff about it not being safe and liability and so forth.. I finally talked him into it.
Now I feel like I am riding a time bomb.
I should have talked to him first about it.. He was totally cool with the dual sporty. He just did not approve of my choice in tires.
I told him I bought them online and did the research online.
Anybody that knows Kent knows that he is anti internet.
He say "The internet is full of horse s*it!"
