Where do you buy your tires?

Where do you buy your bike tires and why? I need a back tire but the fronts are not going to be too far behind. Let's hear it.

I swear by H&D's shop in Lillian for anything bike related. Well....Harley related anyway. I asked Don if he could service Debi's Honda and he drew the line there!. Can't say I blame him for that. great people and a small family owned business. They take pride in what they do.

What do they charge for mounting? Any idea?

I have bought my last 3 sets on ebay. I mount them myself.

H&D changed My tires for $60 bucks but I did have them off the bike. And I bought My tires from Motorcycle superstore like Julius.

I will buy them online and swap em myself, or at a friends place with a real tire changer if I can.

otherwise SOME dealers will really do good on price matching and charge little for their mounting/balancing.

Hey HondaRat, I know those guys at Bike Bandits. One of the owners was my Lawyer when I lived up by Pittsburgh, He now lives in California with his other two brothers. Great guys, and they do an awesome service.

Last tire I got was from Halls Motorsports in Spanish Fort. Front tire for that Vulcan. Was a hundred, which they are trying hard to be competitive on tires. If I remember right, the cheapest online was like 5-10 dollars more. That is without mounting, though.

I bought my last set at the yamaha dealership in Malbis. And I mount my own tires.

Get em' from me! ... I do get GREAT prices.

Its your money spend it where you want to, but Halls will NEVER get another dime from me. He told me that his shop was for people that bought their bike from him, and then threatened my warranty. I will attest to this under oath and with a lie detector.

Sorry to hear that. Not sure how he could threaten a warranty if you didn't buy it there. And I can assure you I don't shop there regularly, just the tire was cheapest around my house. Anything else usually comes from online or the really kewl people around here.

Plus I would never have work done there, I applied for a dealer prep position and I also saw how they hire their "mechanics" and charge a HUNDRED an hour. I know ten times more than the guy I saw get hired and they pay them crap, so they come built in with an attitude Hell, the Harley shops will now work on imports and they charge less,lol.

he cant do anything to your warranty , he has to honor it , no matter where you buy from , because he gets paid from the bike company , so doesnt matter where the bike is bought

His remark to that was "People that do not buy their bike here sometimes have questionable warranty claims and wind up with the warranty not covering the repairs".



I know I can make him do warranty work, but after my dealings with him I found the Yamaha dealer in Pensacola and have had great service from them. Besides... If I let Halls do any work on my bike he would get money from either me or Yamaha. I am not going to let that happen.

There is a long story that comes with all the above, I have my notes with dates, times, and actual phrases used.

I usually get mine from H & D. They always treat me right. I run Avon Venom's they don't skid as easy. I may have to back to Harley tires, I just tacked on 4 more years of warranty, and put tires on it too.

I go to H&D for anything Harley related. Just had my softail "break in" service done there....pretty sure 50K is just break in mileage!

Yes, he gave me a quote on a back tire...he's just as high as the Harley place.

Try Ken at Retro Cycles.

No one rides a Harley because they are economical.
