If anyone's interested in a road trip , about 650 miles from here ..

Possibly making a trip to the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield , Memorial Day Weekend for the Big Daddy of the Dirt Track , The Springfield Mile ..

Back in the day , Springfield was like the Indy 500 was back in the day , if ya only raced once a year you did it at Springfield .. Once upon a time , the winner at Springfield was the GNC for that year , regardless of the number of wins anyone else had ..

Memorial day weekend....as is Memorial Day 2011? If 2011, I may be able to make it....if I plan my vacation right.

If you go up there and want to see an awesomely Kewl store, stop in at Penny Lane. It's a holdover from the 60's Head Shops, and although they no longer can sell paraphernalia, they have the biggest selection of old school beaded doorways, incense, all kinds of figurines, old school blacklight posters, jewelry, concert shirts, the list goes on forever. Small place but you can spend all day in there and not see everything.

LOL....well....110 cu inches usually passes everything on the road....but a gas station. Of course, thats when everyone catches up.

Thats about far enough to get the oil warmed up in tthe FJR. Let em see, if I dont transfer next year i would be very interested. 650 miles should only take 10 hours of riding if you hit the slab, but backroads are much more entertaining.

well thats 650 from mid state , ewe guys wud be around 800 give or take ..

Yeah my "little 96" does great if I run 65 , gets about 50 mpg .. 70 or better is hi 30's ..

Maybe a 103" next year tho'
