Same coupld be said for many motorcyclist around here. Overall I am very preplexed about it, I mean it rains almost everyday, You would think people would get used to it.

Sorry. I'm heading home. I did ride the route this morning. I'm at the BP/Circle K & it's getting more rain every minute. RIP Alex

Re: Memorial ride for Ethioknight
Sounds good. No secret he HATED rain just as much as most of us here do.
Re: Memorial ride for Ethioknight
Sorry I just read about this event. Been working 2 jobs of late to make ends meet and haven't been on the forum much. It would be good if we could organize another ride in Alex honor at some point.
I can always make a Sunday ride (only off day from both jobs) with a bit of notice.
If someone can PM me to be included I will certainly attend.
R.I.P. ALex.

Re: Memorial ride for Ethioknight
I road out there today and when I got there it quit raining, but because so many backed out they are going to set another date, we talked about an hour and they do want it to happen.....so do I.....
Re: Memorial ride for Ethioknight
Yes, most definitely, they just need to let us know. I hope someone lets them know we don't bite. Well, not unless they ask nicely. Meaning that any or all of them are just as welcome here so they can keep in touch about all this too.
Re: Memorial ride for Ethioknight
Somebody let me know when. I will be there for sure.

COSTA TRIBUTE RIDE
Or whatever else you would like to call it. Rescheduled for next Tuesday, late afternoon. That will give people a chance to get off work, it won't be ridiculously hot, and the weather is calling for no rain that day. New meet time 5:30pm stands up at 6pm, all the other details are the same.. Everyone is welcome to join, hopefully South Alabama Motorcycle Society will be riding with us. Invite everyone you know who rides, let's get it as big as possible for him.
Meet spot/time: Circle K on Airport and University 5:30
1st stop: Coleman Dairy and Lott Rd. There's a small gas station there, we can grab a drink, gas, smoke break etc. I rode with him on Coleman Dairy and we stopped there first. He wanted to basically safety brief me as I'd never ridden that road before. He also told me he usually stops there for a drink when he's riding out that way, so I'd like to stop there.
2nd stop: Exxon on Water St. The plan is to ride down Coleman Dairy to Cuss Fork (3 way stop, the road ends) and turn around and ride Coleman Dairy back to Lott, then make our way to Exxon. Costa rode with us many times down to that Exxon and spent a fair amount of time hanging out there, plus it was the last place he got to hang out before his accident. I feel the need to stop there because of that. And it will also provide another gas/drink/snack/smoke break.
3rd stop: The cross. It's finally in the ground as of last night. We are going to stop there and if someone wants to say a few words that's fine. He fought in the ICU for 6 days, but due to the severity of his injuries, that's basically where Costa as we knew him left us.
There's Foosackly's, Checker's, Hungry Howies, and a Chinese place right there. If you want to eat at one of those places, cool. At that point we can all kind of chime in and decide where (if anywhere) to go next.
IMPORTANT:
No wheelies, no racing, no trying to drag knees in the corners at 80mph, no acting stupid. Please. This ride is not about who's the fastest, who can walk a wheelie better, or who gets more looks from girls in a car. This ride is about Costa and remembering him, riding those roads he loved so much, and hanging out where he always kicked it with us. Once we hit Firetower and Coleman Dairy, I know a few people will feel the need to rip through them, but please don't. I just want this to be an easy going, safe ride.
If you have any questions PM me on here, or shoot me a text at 251-623-4083.

Have a safe ride out there. I wish I was going to be home for that ride, but I am stuck down in West Palm Beach, FL for at least another couple weeks.
