My Custom
Here are a few pics of my 2011 Softail I built myself (not a kit) to add to the thread - took me a year from start to finish ~ Just completed it in December. It has a 45 degree total rake out front. Its a softail frame stretched 5" on the backbone. Its powered by a 107ci El Bruto Evo Engine (115hp).

Re: My Custom
nice looking ride !
was this a 100% solo project, or did you part out any of the work to other people/businesses?
I like the flow on rake to tail...

100% done by me with some help from a couple close friends (welding and paint). I fabricated the battery box under the seat out of aluminum plate, the oil bag up front mounted to the downtube - made out of two aluminum fire extinguishers welded together. The exhaust tips are made from aluminum stock I turned on a lathe at work along with all the wheel spacers. The hardware for the seat I fabricated. I was very fortunate that my last unit I was stationed at up in Washington had a lathe along with welding equiptment to do most of the work. The reason why it took a year was I worked on it at lunch and a few hours after work (when I had time). If I had access to that same equiptment I might consider building another one in a rigid frame that had more of a rise on the front downtube with some apes.
