New project: Name unknown!
Got rid of the TLR200 yesterday (Saturday) and today I borrowed my dad's truck and drove over to Grand Bay Alabama where I met Julius. And where Julius sold me his 1971 cb350 project! It's unbelievably nice. And comes with three boxes of parts! I love spares. The skinny on it as it sits now is: Tomaselli clip-on bars (italian stuff), redwing shocks, a sweet set of headlight ears, Avon Roadrider tires (like Dolores is currently wearing), and a ducati 125 reproduction seat pan cut in half (too narrow for the bike currently) and it has had some rearsets fabbed up and installed (I'm planning on reworking them). Julius was also telling me that the head has been mildly ported... so I got that going for me. The bike isn't getting fire to the plugs right now due to some electrical gremlin that I haven't attempted to track down. But it was running last week at some point, so it's something simple. Best part: the electric start works! Here are some pics:
And just for sentimentality here's a pic of the TLR about to roll to her new home!

dang - when i get ready for my next project - we're gonna have to hook up so you can find me a deal like that! (then of course help me work on the motor - hahaha)
awesome snag! I assume you're going to continue the cafe racer theme? That seat pan doesnt look too hard to fix.

Yeah cafe for sure. I wanted to do a hardtail 750 bob next, but this bike is so almost there that I'll put the bob on hold for now. And yes I'm planning on using the glass seat... Probably.
Hmmm... Thelma huh? I'll roll that around for a while.

Re: New project: Name unknown!
I just stopped by Deviants place to check out the 350, and it is a good project starter for sure, won't take a whole lot to make a nice little cafe out of it, as a bunch of work has already been done. It is in a good home julius, Deviant will have that little thing looking great once he gets time to get on her. I hope I have Caroline done by the time he starts on this one. I know if he and I work together on it, we can build it really fast. We work well together as a team.

Re: New project: Name unknown!
i just saw this post on craigslist
http://mobile.craigslist.org/mcy/2200710268.html
Bike does run, recently installed a new(ebay) wiring harness, everything is there. Needs an ignition coil and battery for you to ride it. Runs great in neutral but whenever you put a load on it the coil craps out. Its 38 bucks online. $400 obo. Make an offer. Might trafde for a 4 wheeler, not a tiny little 100cc asian one but an actual 4 wheeler, at least a 250 doesn't have to be 4x4. Give me a call at (two51) 518-138one. TJ, I can text pictures if needed.
sounds like what the 350 was doing
