Seeing as there are only 2 bikes in the running at this point, I think the competition needs to be stepped up a touch and throw in Phantom's Rocker C! Good luck to all of you and this months bikes are all very nice with lots of tuning and customizing done to each!

Post by Edera Sat Oct 23, 2010 4:39 pm

Well the Photo's above says it all except this.

November 2010 BOTM AceBrokeDown

Yep, I tore it down to a rolling chase and started back up.

First thing was a new sprocket and chain on the rear to help with the gear ratio, made a 100% improvement on the lower end.

Then the rear turn signals were changed, and the tail light.
November 2010 BOTM DSC07209
)
Some slight Modes to the dog ugly License place holder.

Then I started on the front end.

New Risers, new two up head light, new front turn indicators New grips
Custom designed "Z" bar that I drew and sent the specs to the man who made it for me. New mirror stems and mirrors.

Tank Modification, removed Dash from center, relocated start switch to right side, Speed-O to handlebars.

Paint job front and back fenders, Full tank, replaced plastic side covers and with metal and painted to match theme. I drove my painter nuts with this project, he painted it three times to get it right.

Johnny Pag Proto-type chrome head covers replace the original (Yes I got the first set 18 months head of everyone else

Seat was re-worked to theme, again my design, and a gel pad added.

Back fender a flame luggage rack was added.

Theme Conchs were added to the fender struts.

All exposed wires were covered.

A smaller fork bag was located and Conchs were added to go with the theme

Spade valve stem covers on front and rear tire.

LED miulti-colored show lights, and a anti-theft alarm. finished off the project.

If I forgot anything, I'm sure Dragon will add.

Now before anyone asks. I did all the designing and 90% of the work myself. Dragon has training in soldering so he helped with all of that, but that doesn't mean I wasn't stripping wires and chasing wiring through the frame. And Dragon added the little extra muscle I needed sometimes to tighten something down or loosen something up

We had someone do the theft alarm because it was just too complicated for either of us. Total time for this Mod. almost 18 months.

Hope you like my little project, have any questions.....Ask.

November 2010 BOTM Empty Re: November 2010 BOTM

Post by Dragon Sat Oct 23, 2010 10:32 pm

In truth, I don't remember what all was done, mainly because SHE did it all. Ofttimes the roles were reversed and it was me in the house, her burning the midnight oil in the garage. Very Happy

I know that she took me directly when I bought her the stock bike and said "customize it any way ya want, love." I figures maybe some new bags, some bling, maybe even new paint. She took it down to the rolling chassis. Very Happy

She entered it in the New Orleans Bike Week last year with some very heavy competition and won first in class. But I think the very best part of that show was when a longtime professional lady bike builder ( one of the sponsors of the Show and has her own shop ) came over and told her what an awesome bike build it was. That was one of the greatest compliments I feel that was given, far and above any trophy.

And let me tell you, I couldn't be prouder, she did do it all herself save for a couple tuff bolts or some really intricate work like soldering that she wanted done right. She would ask questions, freely answered and then back to the garage she went.

Very very proud, and I love her very very much for taking on something like this and DOING it, the very first time. With the way PAGS are built, many would have walked away because most of the parts are far from standard fit, everything had to be carefully selected or fabricated to work. Very Happy

And during the build times was when she had her accident. 14 weeks in a wheelchair. But the DAY she got out of it, she was back in the garage, looking and formulating and making plans to catch up and keep right on keeping on getting her "baby" rolling again. Wink

http://www.johnnypag.com/motorcycles/spyder300/index.php

Johnny Pag California Choppers are a 300 cc water cooled motorcycle made in China, shipped to the USA. The engine is a Honda with a Modified Johnny Pag top end. The bike will hit 100 mph if need be, cruise at 80 all day, and is a load of fun to ride. The all have forward controls, they get around 65 mile to the gallon. They have 3.5 gallon gas tanks. They are Carborated, but there are plans for a EFI to come out in the next couple of years. The best thing is they are very affordable. A new 2010 runs around $5500 OTD, last I heard, and I could be high.

I fell in love with this bike on site at the Fall New Orleans Bike Fest in Westweego, LA in Oct of 2008. That is also where I met Andy. He had a line-up of them and I told Dragon I wanted one. I also happened to sell three of them that weekend for Andy, which made us very good friends. LOL.

Mine was delivered on a very rainy day in early November we got soaked getting it off the truck, but I rode it to the garage. Dragon tolg me to have fun modifying it, and so I did, I took it apart. Let me tell you it's ALL Metric, and nothing can be just bolted on. It's ALL modification, with the exception of maybe the mirrors and stems.

This bike has been a learning experience. On another note. We have the dealership rights to the Mobile area. We just need to get some financing to get a building and our first shipment and these sell themselves. Not just to beginner riders, but season riders love them to get around town on when they don't want to pull out their big bike.

Ask me anything else you want about the,. I love these bikes and would love to get my dealership started.

Oh the lift is one we picked up at Harbor Freight.

Post by Ghostrider Sun Oct 24, 2010 3:20 am

Thanks Beard, Dragon I may do that before long. Believe it or not I just ordered a Springer front end for it, everybody told me it couldn't be done but bygolly watch me cause I'm about to put one on her. Ain't decided yet if I want to use the fat ass 16 inch front tire she has on her now or put a 21 inch twisted spoke wheel and tire on her (I'll keep you guessing for now LOL). Beard ole buddy I almost started to look you up a week or so ago when I was coming back up through Florida into Bama, I'd done rode about 14 hours and was one tired ass and I started to crash in on you but decide to push on to the house before I stopped. Ya'll brothers be good now (right BS is BS any way it's spelled LOL).
