New member in Troy
Hey, everyone. Been riding in South Alabama my whole life, can't believe it took me this long to find this site! I love the older vintage bikes (my first was a 71 Honda Trail 70 in copper) and I currently own a '76 Honda Goldwing (Old Man), a '82 Honda CB900f (Young Gun), and a '71 Suzuki TS125 (Little B*tch). All yellow (seriously, by accident). And none of which are currently "running" per se . So anyone who knows any good shops (lost my mechanic recently), or just has any good advice, I will owe you a beer. Thanks! and Great Site!

Re: New member in Troy
Appreciate the warm welcome, people. Spent most of the day scouring the site for info and ideas. Been letting my projects rest for way too long, but the riding weather bug has bitten me hard this year and I really want to push hard and fast on these guys and get things done.
Thanks for the tip about DWMS.com 01YZF6. Saw his build for biggerjim in another post and it looked great!
Will be posting pictures soon. Wait until you see this "charging system" somebody stuck on this CB900. Its mind-boggling.

Re: New member in Troy
I apparently can't stop grabbing old bikes. I was out at my Mom's old place, just snooping around for whatever and discovered my dad's barn had collapsed (many years ago) and buried a 1971 Honda CL 175. Needless to say, efforts are being made to rescue the trapped orphan and give it a new home!
Any CL175 experts in the house?

Re: New member in Troy
Ok, guys. Picked up the latest rescue . This was my dad's and I really want to fix it up right. (he was a racer, so this may not turn out stock) Sorry for the photo quality, was trying to get some shots with the phone before I lost the light.
Enjoy

Had to pull the barn off the bike

Wifey helping me strap it down

On the trailer and sitting "pretty"

Time and sticky-fingered relatives have not been kind

Well. I got some scrubbing to do. Be back later with pics of the other bikes once I clean them off a bit. ( I hate carpenter bees)

Nice. Looks like a lot of work. Good luck with it. Hopefully it will be an easy build.

Re: New member in Troy
Finally broke out the camera and headed to the barn for some pics of the rest of the"family" here
First the "Old Man" 1976 Honda GL1000 Goldwing
[img][/img]
Now the 1982 Honda CB900F
[img][/img]
"Little B*tch" 1971 Suzuki TS 125
[img][/img]
And the "New" addition 1971 Honda CL 175
[img][/img]
That's right, 4 non-working bikes that most people consider worthless. I am just a glutton for punishment.
