Almost a BAD day !
Wife and I rode to Spanish Ft yesterday and met up with her dad and rode to SilverHill then back to Spanish Ft. Well onway back we decided to take a short cut through Timber Creek Subdivison.
Well father in law was infront then wife on her bike and then me behind. Wife took curve past the golf course a little too fast and lost controll and hit a curve and over the handle bars she went and landed in someones front yard. I stopped instantly thinking the worst. But she got up and dusted her self off and said " Well I just had my very first wreck on my bike" , lol.. We got her bike up and well it was bent a little here and there and dirty as hell, but not too bad. Wife was fine a small scratch on her thigh and 2 small bruises on her leg. You can only imagine how thankfull I was she was ok.
I was really glad I had bought that crash bar and installed on her bike cuz it took the brunt of the damage. Only a few things bent up but we fixed them and I able to reattatch the crash bar and she rode the bike back to her dads and then back home in Mobile later. Her pride was hurt more than anything and she was embarrased. Like her told her she learned a great lesson and we can repalce or fix a bike but not her. A couple of people stopped to help and they say the stupidist things. One guy
stopped and the first thing he said ," How did this happen?". Im like shes a stunt woman and does this all the time. STUPID PEOPLE !!!!!!
Today she is a little sore all over as to be expected but thank God she wasnt harmed. But I was so proud of her for getting up and dusting herself off and getting back on that bike. She is gonna be just fine and the bike turned out to be alot better off than we thought. No dents or chipped paint. Had a right front blinker bent but fixed it and a bracket for her windshiled was bent we fixed that as well. Also one of the brackets that held the crash bar on to bottom of bike was bent but we fixed that best we could and it works. I swear If it hadnt been for that crash bar wouldve been alot worse.
She was trying to keep up with her dad who has been riding for over 60 yrs and he was going a little too fast but had better controll. I told her to never go beyond her comfort zone no matter who it is. Always speak up. But Anyways, was almost a terrible day and wasnt .........

Wow! So glad she is okay. I'd be scared to death myself if my wife went down in front of me. Again, very glad the worst of it was a bruised ego.

Well I can tell you my heart dropped past my stomach when I seen her hit the ground. I could tell just before she went down it was gonna happen but couldnt do anything about it. But it is a scarey thing to see.
I think the fact she had on her leather jacket and her new riding boots
made a difference as well. Cause both jacket and boots got scuffed up.
And the fact she landed in someones yard (grass) made a world of
difference.

Thanks everyone ! She says she is really feeling it today. I guess alot of muscle soreness...I'm really glad it happened while I was with her cause
I wouldn't have liked it if she had been alone.. Does make me proud though
the way she handled it afterwards.
Maybe I can get her a biker suite made out of bubble wrap to protect her, lol...

Re: Almost a BAD day !
there is one thing that confuses me about chicks on the back of bikes not the actual ones driving there own it always seems the dude up front is decked out in leathers etc and the chick is sitting back there in a halter top and daisy dukes and flip flops it just freaks me out i am so over protective of my girl and worry more about her gettin hurt than myself. to be honest not sure if i could forgive myself if mine got hurt riding on the back, but wouldnt feel as guilty if she was driving
