Situation Jumped up this morning and wanting to ride well to my dismay after riding all day yesterday this morning i find a small nail in the rear tire dead in the middle. My question is can it be plugged as a temporary day fix or do i just park it. I cant think of any shops open sunday/monday and not real sure if anyone is open that can or will plug it.

Best thing...new tire

Next best thing in a pinch...try to plug it

Last ditch..and I have done this a number of times but it really depends on how big the nail and hole is.....use a can of fix o flat...supposed to be temprary but I have used it like that for weeks

But......take it very easy

I got a couple nails in a brand new rear tire a while back.. Against a lot of peoples advice I used string plugs.. I never had a problem.. I rode the tread off the tire with those plugs in there..

Always better to patch it from the inside, but string plugs worked for me.

I have ridden a long way on a good plug. if it holds air, ride it till it needs to be replaced or you can patch it.

Plug it for temporary. And it's up to you, but I would at least get it patched. It doesn't happen OFTEN, but plugs can blow out at higher speeds.
