Yamaha XS 650 project to start soon. IT'S ALIVE!!!!! Now I wait..

Got the bike, now its just time I need. Taking 2 classes in college and alot of homework, but i couldnt pass up the deal. I have my FJR to ride till I get this one on the raod. its a barn find with low miles. needs TLC adn then start modding the heck out of it to turn it into a cafe racer.

Nice. An excellent start for a cafe project... ya know... if that's what you've got in mind.

You know it is man, Alot of people go with the bobber on these, but I REALLY like to corner really hard on a bike,. I think the cafe look would suit me more.

650's wers nice in their day, helped a Bro get his up and running once, new pistons, rings, carb rebuild etc. Should be a good one.

Dude, me and twisted need to ride up your way one day and spin some wrenches! Whenever you do get working we'll have to do that.

I ordered carb kits, pod filters, and i am waiting on a fellow member here to see if they have the electronic ignition before I order that. I want to get it right before I tear it down and start modifying it alot. I like to start with known good stock.

Nothin worse that getting it all together and finding out you need a complete rebuild on the lower end.

Yeah but i did get the guy to deduct quite a bit for the title issue. I know how to work this one out so its not a show stopper, but I sure hate waiting. Gives me time to get the bike ready though. Wont be riding it to the bike night next month, but in october i should be ready to ride it.

That is going to be a fun build! can not wait to see it take shape!!

making progeress. Slow but steady.

Had a little timetoday. made progress on the old girl. Still waiting on a title to arrive, so not throwing any money at her yet. i am very happy with the tank , Its rattle can with a clear coat so fuel wont eat thru it.
