I really dont want Ape hangers maybe buckhorns. I have an 07 Road King and its to much of a reach for me I am always hunched over just to reach the handle bars so I want to get something that will come further back towards me so I can sit up straight. The Harley shop said softail handle bars would give me another inch or 2 of reach. Any ideas are more than welcome, because I have had 2 back surgery's and hunched over does'nt feel to good.

Probly what they are talking about are the Heritage bars. They are similar to mini apes. I have a set of buckhorns that came off my Fatboy. But they are almost the same as RK bars. I put a set of 12" mini apes on mine. I too have back troubles. My uncle has a set off a Heritage on his 07 RK and loves them. I have access to another set of 12" bars with the wiring and switches in them. I might be able to get you a set of Heritage bars as well. Here is a link to a few pics of mine before and after.

I don't really think I want ape hangers so I guess I am looking for heritage bars. If you come across some for a decent price let me know. I may need some one to explain how to get to the bolts and clamps for the handle bars or someone that can do it for me but thats after I find some.

PM me your # and I will call you about this. It is no problem to change bars. If I can get the heritage bars from my uncle, There yours. I know he went to Sturgis. So it may take me a week to get in touch with him. I will let you know how much when I talk to him.

Hey Do you need the Maintenance Manual and Electrical Diagnostic Manual for your 07 Roadking? I just happen to have a "pdf" copy of them if you want them. That will give you some reading time in between mods. Just PM me an e-mail addy and I will hook you up. I don't think they are too big to send in an e-mail... If it is, we will figure out how to get ya a copy.

I have a set of Buckhorns but they're pretty shabby lookin', but they'd be OK if you just want to try some first. Of course they could also be powdercoated if you like that look.

Also have a set of 1-1/4" fatty T-bars with 10" rise and some pullback in perfect shape, they reduse so 1" risers and controls will work. Also a set of stock bars off my '02 Low Rider in real nice shape. Don't know what kind of risers you can use but I also have 2 sets of 4" risers with a little pullback in 'em. One set is round stock, one set is oval (I guess that's what you call it).

Let me know if you're interested.

Andy

mcattack, I am new to this forum and saw your post . I have a set of softail bars i would trade for a set of heritage bars or some 12" mini apes if you run across a set. The bars are on my 04 softail , in great shape and would only be interested in a trade , or i would have to go buy a new set for my bike.I know your post has been on here for a while and if you have already found some bars you like good for you I just thought i'd throw that out there . Thanks. Mike,

My honda has 1" bars that step down to 7/8 at the controlls. You talk about hard to find bars. If I change the bars I have to buy all new controlls for a 1" bar.

Johnny Pags have the same size steps on them. Our dealer can probably get any style off any of these models you want.

Our dealer. Call him and tell him Dragon sent you.
