Decent Dyno in the area?
I am curious about someone other than the Harley shop to do a dyno tune on my bike. I want someone that is reputable and also knows what they are doing. I am going to be using the SE Super Tuner and it most likely id going to be a simple tune as I am anly going stage 1 (exhaust and Air Cleaner).
Does anyone have any recommendations on someone in the local area? Otherwise I will probably take it to Kats in the New Orleans area.
Thanks

I know at a lot of big bike events like Thunder Beach they have dynos in a trailer.. I don't know if they just tell you what your bike puts out or if they will get more into it. I would like to know if there is a local place though.

Dyno trailers will cost you an arm and leg. Like $300 or more.
Last time I had mine done it was in Denham Springs Louisiana at my engine gurus getting built, was like $75 at the harley dealership there for two runs. I swear by the Power Commanders over the SE. I have a PC V with the autotune module which adjusts itself as well. And I am told that the EFI ignitions self adjust on their own after a stage one, there are tons of Harley Forums that all seem to agree.

I think H and D cycles over near the Fl line has one. I remember seeing one in that fairly new bike place on 98 near foley. Don't know if either are good at it though. I did the TTS mastertune on my bike. It was developed by the same group of guys that developed and built the SE Tuner for HD. Here is another site thread about it....
http://www.hdforums.com/forum/electrical-ignition-tuner-ecm-fuel-injection/302165-tts-mastertune-information-40.html
I hooked it up... threw my laptop on in my backpack and rode around while the software recorded bike info. It then kicks out a freah new custom map. Do this a couple times and good to go. I have a couple different maps with different AFR settings in case I want to use a map with better MPG or one with more power. It wasn't cheap, but it is cheaper than the SE tuner and a dyno.

I think it was like $50 for a base line run?

Re: Decent Dyno in the area?
Thanks for all the input. I am not looking for these dyno trailers as much as a dedicated Experienced tuner that I can assure I am getting a good tune.
I am familiar with the TTS Mastertune set up. I only found out about it after I had already purchased the Super Tuner. Since the latest software upgrade the Super tuner will do the same thing as the TTS except it is not quite as automatic. As in you have to do some copy/paste work. I think it is called the smart tune in the Super Tuner.
I may end up going with the Smart Tune feature if I can do some more learning on the subject. I have to feel confident in my knowledge before I venture into it.
Thanks Again for all the comments!

Re: Decent Dyno in the area?
Thanks! I will drop by and speak to the tuner at Halls and see what I can work up with them. I am not doing the tune real soon so I got time to time around a little.

Best shop around with a dyno and know how is H&D's Cycle over in Lillian, AL off 98. They are probably the best little shop around and highly recommended.

There are a lot of other shops in the area but H&D is the only place I go to anymore.
