Powdercoating in a can...
I talked with some of you last night about it. Advance or O reilly's now sells powdercoat in spray cans. Wondering if anyone has tried the stuff or heard anything about it. Am thinking about giving it a try as I will be ordering heat shields for my pipes soon. Makes no sense...I order black pipes, but the only available heat shields for these black pipes are chrome.... Would definitely be a real test with the heat these pipes give off below them.

Harbor Freight sells a small powder coating kit too.. You just need to convince your wife to let you use the oven.

Let us all know how it works out. Sure would be nice. Have a few things that need to be redone on the honda.

If it don't work, you will definitely hear me.....
Already have a backup plan in place though....Nick tells me they now sell GLOSS black 2000 degree header paint. Not just the dull crap.

My only question would be whether or not it's high heat powder. You're probably better off getting the harbor freight kit and laying some high heat black on those shields. And I would definately buy a different oven. You can get a ratty used one dirt cheap. I got caught curing my the paint on my gas tank in the oven. My wife was not happy. Apparently that is way worse than washing parts in the dishwasher...

they make 1200 degree paint that has a gloss, I'm sure this product is just a semi gloss with a hardener that shines up.
