90 FXSTC overrun clutch Question
trying to diagnose a starter problem. starter engages with ring gear but won't turn it. can't turn pinion gear fwd by hand but can with channel locks. Is this a faulty overrun clutch? everything else about the starter seems fine.

Got a new starter clutch at Retro Cycles. That was the problem.

Bike wouldn't start but hit ok with start spray. Pulled off the carb to check the jets and naturally....all were plugged up. Even the pump passages. Seafoam did the trick. Running again. (Bike sat idle for 2 yrs). just found that the clutch is stuck

Pull the clutch lever and tie it back for a few days.
