Re: CB900F weight loss project
Hmmm...It seems Brother YZ is an educated man...now I am really intrigued!...so you have to ride over soon man!
I put in some more time on Biggerjims engine today and finished the ignition and flywheel covers in the gold so here are the pics!
The before pic of the ignition cover...
...and the before pic of the flywheel cover, if you notice this cover had some heavy roadrash on the egg in the center and a little at the top and the bottom but there was enough material left to file and sand it back to smooth!...
...and here are the finished covers! Took this pic in the shade with no flash so they look a little flat but in the sun they look the same as the valve cover pic I took with a flash as the light catches the metallics in the paint...notice the egg as there is no more roadrash!
It will take me a couple more days of washing and sanding on the engine itself before it will be ready for paint...but I will add new pics as soon as I get the engine sprayed with the gloss black!

I am actually liking the Brother title...
And also happen to be a card carrying certified minister anyway...
Would just have to register with the county and be completely legal to perform any acts of the office like weddings or funerals....

Jim sounds like you've got a sweet project on your hands dude. I can't wait to see it come together for you.
Joey, as always your work is a step above brother.
YZ, My son's 5th b-day is this weekend too! Today is his b-day party. It's going to be a long day for the Deviant1!

Re: CB900F weight loss project
I would like to thank the entire family for the compliments...however I can not take all of the credit for this one as it is Brother Biggerjims canvas, I am merely the brush! He is putting togethor a very nice chassis while I am painting the engine and I can not wait to see her all togethor!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to both of the boys! I hope they have the best birthdays ever!
Brother Dragon, you are a certified minister, that is very interesting!

Re: CB900F weight loss project
OK, we had a slight delay as we found a spot we had to fix up but I got her just about finished, so hopefully I will have the new finished pic's up within the next day or so!

hahaha - To thine own bike be true - thou dost have a lot on thine plate - if brother biggerjim needs any help from an amish folk - I shall be o'there quickly. hahaha
you'd think for a guy with "amish" as his screenname, I could talk the lingo better.
The bike parts are lookin sweet. I sold my CB900 Custom last year - had it lookin great, but the motor was givin me fits - was my first inline 4 and motors arent my thing anyway. Offer for any help you want is out there tho.

Re: CB900F weight loss project
I got her painted today! Biggerjim decided to go with polished fins on the cylinder head so I am going to let the engine sit overnight for the paint to cure real good before I do the fins and assemble it back togethor...so pic's tomorrow (sunday) for sure!
Re: CB900F weight loss project
OK, Here is a before and after pic of the 900! I got the cylinder heads fins sanded down today and am going to let the paint cure a little more before I polish them. More before and after pic's here www.dwmsracing.com in the photo gallery under cb900. Brother Biggerjim is putting togethor a really nice chassis and I can not wait to see the engine sitting in there!
Before...
...And After...Hope you like!
