Congrats... I'm not sure if he has signed on to the site yet, so I don't know his screen name yet. If you are out there... make your claim. Beautiful bike!

I hope he does too. I talked to him for a little while. The bike started out as a Sportster. I believe he said he was Military, so I'll be the first to say Thank-you mystery man for your service.

Oh, and thanks on the pic. I try to take good pictures from an ant's point of view.

I'll talk to him and get him to sign on, I'm taking his trophies to him at the Coast Guard Base. He is in the other hangar next to mine.

The rotor and caliper is on there.. I am assuming he must have a control for the brake somewhere.. Lots of chopper guys don't run front brakes.
I would not get on a bike without one.

Before he left Saturday, I made sure he has us found on the Phone/internet and he said he saved it and he was going to join.

I don't think I need to get another photo Phantom, this one is real good, but I will if you want.

Nice bike, BTW

August 2010 BOTM Empty My Iron Head

Post by Guest Tue Aug 03, 2010 8:22 am

I would just like to thank all of you for the compliments on my bike. I do have both a front and rear brake and they both work. I just have both of my brakes running to my foot pedal, soon I will be putting a proportioning valve on the brake system so that I will have more control of the braking system. The bike started life as a very beat up 1000cc 82 ironhead. I purchased the bike back in 2002 when I was stationed in Louisiana, and shortly after purchasing the bike I moved to Washington State were I was stationed on the coast at CG Station Cape Disappointment. I did not mess with the bike for over a year and almost traded it for a dirt bike, Im glad I didn't trade it but Im pretty sure my wife wouldn't say the same thing. When I was in Washington I would ride the bike in the summer and tare it down for changes and modifications during the winter. The first change was the frame and I just went with it from there. Almost all the parts I put on the bike were made or modified by me to fit on the bike I.E.(forward controls, motor mounts, seat, oil tank, fenders, and so on). I pride myself on the fact that almost all the parts that I put on the bike were made by small chopper company's and modified by me to fit my appication, Im not a big fan of shopping at the Harley Davidson Stealership. To make a long story short when I first started building the bike I had a bad run in with the parts guy at the Harley Dealership and since then I have found so many other small business operators that make some amazing parts and are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. Well the bike has gone through many changes and looks nothing like it use to when I first started, at one point in time I rode the bike for almost 2 years with a boxing glove as a seat, until I figured out what kind of seat I wanted to put on it. I greatly appreciate all of the compliments and hopefully I will see some of you at Bike-O-Rama I might enter the bike in that show as well.

Hello There! I would like to say congradulations. I did not realize that there were several fellow Coasties on this new forum. I liked your trophies today when I saw you in the shop. I'll make sure to ask Lindsey if she wants to check out that bike show this weekend. I'll give you a call tomorrow.
