Re: New Header
Looks fine to me. A little stretched, but to make the header any bigger would make it grotesquely big anyway.
Re: New Header
OK. Made it a little bigger and not streched out. So what do ya think? Too big?

Re: New Header
I have asked several time for pics from members. Again. If you would like to see your bike in the header, please email them to me. I will make sure to use them. I will be changing the pics from time to time. My email is hayweed70@gmail dot com.Miss G wrote:I like it...just don't have any of mine in there.

Re: New Header
looks good !
have you considered a scrolling picture bar?
pictures can be a smaller size, allowing 3-5 images across the header at a time, yet still clickable for full resolution.
just a suggestion...

Never seen one. I am not very good with the pic thing yet. Still learning a lot of it. I have asked for ideas and help and only two have stepped up. Not sure how to build a scrolling pic bar or where to get a program to make one. Any help is gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

Re: New Header
I am no expert, but have seen basic templates for them, depending on what SCRIPT this forum uses.
is there a test mode for this site you can use to test out new tools or style changes? or do you have to back up the site each time before you make any changes?
here are two sites that have some basic IDEAS on how to create a moving header.

http://www.mommylivingthelifeofriley.com/tips-techniques-how-to-advice/how-to-add-a-scrolling-image-bar-to-your-blog/
I have been to FM's site and there is not a lot of info there...
does the site use CSS scripts? HTML? Java?
if you want to pm me JUST the header template code I can play with it and see what I can change to make it happen... then you can check it and plug it into the site if you wish to test it. not sure if I can but willing to try...

Re: New Header
right now you have a GIF image ( created by you?) with X amount of images loaded to it. I take it that if you have to add or remove images, you will have to edit the entire gif in photoshop?
this can be easier for you I suppose, if using a gif works easier
(adding a single image link for the forum page header versus editing an entire script and 50 separate images with code)

Re: New Header
It's a standard phpbb forum. Fine if you know what you are doing, PITA if you do not.
Forum links and support for it are at the bottom of every page. And templates (for someone who does not know how they work, like me ) can be a nightmare to edit. I have some other friends who wanted me to build and mod a phpbb forum. I messed with it for about a week, then went and got a different forum type, it was a pita for me.

Re: New Header
this one works fine, and is simple to edit from your PC and just replace it with the new gif source in the header tools.
if interested in a different header layout, let me know and i will try to wrtie/make one work.

Re: New Header
Anything that I can save to Photobucket I can use in the header. I use one site to make the GIF and save it to my computer. Then save it to Photobucket and use the link. That's pretty mechanical it. The hardest part is making the GIF and getting it set up with the right size, speed, ect. Posting it is just like posting a pic. Thanks to all and I will look into the links above and see what I can come up with.
