Intruder not wanting to start
My bike is not wanting to start. It will turn over and over and over but does not want to start. I have had the battery checked it is good. I also pulled the plugs while cranking with no spark until I let off of the starter button then the plugs fire. (this happen for a few times of cranking then the bike will fire) This has happens in the morning and evening after the bike sits for a while.
Once bike starts it will start on the first try. The bike is a 2001 suzuki intruder lc 1500 by the way. I would like to do the work on this myself but I don't know where to go next any help will be greatly apprecciated

Sounds like your coil is shorting, It should fire while it's turning, Check for a good ground or loose connections, especially if the coil is not to old. Is it the original Coil?

Yes original coils. I went thrugh an tightend and unplugged all connectors that I could find and also the batt. terminals and starter wires (bolts). It just started this like overnight. No warnings just started doin what it is doin.
Like I said once it starts it runs out like it always did.
This bike only has 14000 miles on it.

If you have a book you could also check the resistance of the Plug wires and see if there in spec. If the look frail or cracked change the wires first. If the plugs are old you could change them too.I'm not sure where they can test coils at. Is there a Suzuki Dealer near you, they should be able to check it. Just tell them you would like your coil tested, see what they say, They should have a tester they could plug up without going thru service. They might be sticklers though. Also you could make sure your getting power the the coil during start, do you have a volt meter? If you unplug the power wires to the coil, during start you should good voltage, compare it to the reading strait from the battery, also put the meter on the battery while you start it, It should not drop below 9 volts. If it does, have your battery load tested, the starter will draw all the current if the battery is low, not giving the coil enough to generate spark.

Re: Intruder not wanting to start
not sure if you have 90 degree plugs, but my intruder 800 had similar issues.
changed the wires and all was good. the rubber insulation where the wire went into the 90 part of the boot had separated, and caused corrosion on the wiring
