Front wheel concern...
Ok...the front wheel has a bolt/axle that goes thru the front wheel and is secured to the forks. 1 side has a bolt, the other has a hole...is it supposed to have a cotter pin in that hole???

Re: Front wheel concern...
No Ma'am.
That rather large hole you are speaking of should be on the right hand side (as your sitting on the bike), and the hole should be nearly flush or flush with the side of the fork. The hope probably is nearly learge enough to stick your pinky finger through.
That hole is made to stick something through there and hold the axle while torqing the nut on the other side of the wheel. There probably are 2 small nut pointing up on the bottom of the fork on the same side as the side with the hole in it.
If the hole is not as I described maybe you could snap a pic of it and post here and I/we will figure out what it is.

Re: Front wheel concern...
I was just wondering if it was meant to have a cotter pin or was it used for said torqueing and pulling of the axle. It's just like you've said it should be so all is well. Thank you.

Great, Glad I didn't make myself look like a fool.. HAHA
I was describing my Roadking, all the while assuming your bike was the same.
I seen where you have been out on the road again!! Congrats on your recovery so far and wish that recovery continues in a positive direction.

Re: Front wheel concern...
Seems like I seen some 1/2 helmets hanging in Retro Cycles when I had Kent replace my back tire. Can't remember if that was where I seen them or if they were even DOT helmets. You could call and ask what he has. I don't have his phone number handy, but you can get it from his website at http://www.retrocycles.com

Check the flea market in mobile. That's where I bought mine. Nice helmets and nice prices.

I never thought about the flea market. That is probably a good place to find a good deal.

Thanks Hayweed! 2 more dumb questions...the flea market is north of 98, right? They're all cash only, aren't they?

Actually Walmart has started carrying some helmets again too, including half ones. DOT certified. Back near automotive.

H&D cycles have plenty of half helmets fairly reasonable to dot and non dot.

Re: Front wheel concern...
I am sorry I goofed the link up to retro cycles.
It is http://www.retrocycleworksinc.com/
Retro is on Hwy 98 in Montrose
H&D cycles is most likely closer to you, and I have heard they are good people.

I actually passed Retro yesterday during my wanderings. Will have to check them out too. I'm also pricing saddle bags for my bike.

I'm 1 step ahead of you there. I just have to figure out how to move my taillights and see if the bags will need bracing. Dunno if I'm up to my first bike mod myself.
Went to the flea market in Mobile this morning and was a bit disapointed in the helmet selection...for the price. I look better in a skid lid but don't think I have the ummm...guts To wear one. Heading to wamart shortly, will scope out their helmet selection there.
