My latest (Temporary ) acquisition
The college broke kid we got (24yo, 6'4" 180 lbs ) has been suffering along on his little 500 Vulcan for 4 years as a commuter ride to save him some gas money. But he has been busting his A** at school, extra credit classes and working hard to support himself so as not to be a burden on us as much as possible. When we got in a serious money hurt a little while back, he didn't blink at sending most of his college grant money to help us along till we got back on our feet and I know he went quite a bit short for himself in doing so, selflessly.
Well...now that we are up and running again, I been scheming on some serious payback all quiet like.
We have to go up there next week to do some final work to finish getting her house ready for market and I went and picked up a little surprise for his A** tonight. Will be trailering it up there when we go, pull it off about a half block away from his house and ride it up to his front door.
2007 Honda 750 Shadow
Gloss black with factory red pinstripe flames
Stage 2 K&N intake, jet kit and Cobra bologna cut shotgun pipes
4" extended forks
Spiked fork caps and tank dash bolts
Fork Bag w/embossed eagle and flat studs
Saddle bags w/embossed eagle and flat studs
Sissybar backrest and rack
Brand new rear tire
6500 miles
Fully serviced a 1000 miles ago
4" extended forward control kit (with an additional 6" extended kit that he can bolt on once he gets used to the forwards )
Lowering kit
Windshield
Kuryakyn grips
"Live to Ride" chrome intake cover, side covers,
Chrome eagle master cylinder cover and license plate holder
Showroom clean, not a scratch.
NADA: around $5400.
I paid 4K.
Did need a front tire, which I got from Hall's Motorsports over near Spanish Fort for right at a hundred. And FYI, right now they are discounting ALL tires they are carrying. BIGTIME thanks to Hayweed for helping me by getting it installed, plus some much needed work on my truck so I can safely deliver it next week.

(From edera )
UPDATE
We delivered the bike to my son on June 13. Along with his new helmet I bought him for his Birthday.
after being caught totally speechless, (Dragon just pulled up to the house and asked him if he wanted to trade.)
He helped unload the bike
Gave mum the required mug shot
put on his new helmet
Took the bike up the street and then back down
Then Father and Son had to have a shot together.
All in all I think he had a great day.
